The Trustees

Chairperson: Karen Cave. Karen and husband Darryl did the Computers In Homes class in the pilot in Eltham 2005. They have 3 children. Karen wanted to be a part of the team that helped to provide the opportunity of taking part in Computers In Homes to others in the area, so took on the role of Chairperson for Eltham E-Learning (2005). Karen later became a tutor for classes in Eltham. When the Taranaki E-Learning trust formed in 2008 Karen stayed on, becoming Chairperson for this group also. Karen is currently on the Community Board representing the Eltham ward, for the South Taranaki District Council.

Treasurer: Adrian Sole

Secretary: Linda Ogle joined the Trust in November 2008, as new trustees were needed and Linda thought she would like to support this worthwhile programme. Linda completed the Computer In Homes class as a student in 2007, and wanted to be able to help provide this opportunity to other families.
Married to Nick and with 5 adult children. She enjoys computing with her grandchildren.

Mary Allenden (McKee) was a student in the first intake in the Eltham pilot in 2005. Mary has been a helper in the classroom working alongside Karen helping out with those students that need a little more help or some extra one on one. She joined the Trust in November 2008. She has 2 daughters, and has seen the benefits of these classes first hand because of her children.

David Birchler has been with the group since its early days when it was the Eltham E-Learning committee. He took up the challenge to take the Computers In Homes class as a student (2008) and graduated as one of oldest graduates.

Honorary Trustee: Chester Borrows MP: A long time supporter of Computers In Homes MP Chester Borrows admits that he remembers when he was first learning, how frustrated he felt when first using new technology so he has a lot of admiration for the graduates and what they have achieved.
Being the National MP for the Whanganui Electorate Chester has offices in Wanganui and in Hawera. With a history in policing and the law, Chester’s policy interests are around Law and Order and Welfare.
